PAS 26 is a technical product standard that was introduced in Europe in 1998. The standard is specifically for covers/manholes for use on service station forecourts and pavement areas.

PAS 26 makes provisions for covers/manholes and gully tops to be made from materials other than those specified in the European standard BS EN124 (1994). It is the first worldwide technical product standard to set out requirements for composite materials and test methods.
The symbol for this standard is the Kitemark.

Fibrelite covers which have been awarded this Kitemark are the FL10,FL36, FL76 & FL90.
These comply with the load requirements of BS EN124 Class C250 standard - they can withstand a 25 tonne load without breaking or being damaged in any way.
In April 2008, the FL760 D400 was accredited with the Kitemark. This cover has been designed to withstand a 40 tonne load.

Fibrelite covers meet and exceed the axle loading specified in this standard. The standard specifies a two axle truck with a gross vehicle weight of 20 tonnes. With 4 tonnes on the first axle and 16 tonnes on the second with an axle spacing of 14 feet.
