Wheatcroft water treatment facility in Scarborough approached Fibrelite looking for a long-term solution to replace their short term steel covers, odour prevention manual handling and security were all important issues.

The previously installed steel covers had a life span of 18 months due to the corrosive gases from the waste water material in the pipeline, causing erosion of the covers. One critical issue was preventing the odour from the pipeline escaping, manual handling and security were key issues as well.

Solution

Fibrelite’s lightweight, watertight manhole covers, offer easy access for operators at Wheatcroft water treatment facility preventing manual handling issues, for extra security a bar was installed over the cover.
